Having said that, we do also paint modern homes interiors and exteriors!

From restoring centuries old Scottish buildings to painting historic Thames homes...
I started in the painting business at the age of 16, as the youngest and fittest I was of course given the unpopular jobs to do like sanding floors and ceilings.
Later I entered the building industry and learnt more new skills, discovering I really enjoyed working with wood.
Eventually, I became skilled enough to do home renovations as part of an already established team. We were occasionally called upon to restore centuries old Scottish estate buildings employing traditional methods.
I was hooked.
My wife and I emigrated to New Zealand in 2000 where I installed and painted designer trellis-work for a landscaping company and helped convert buses into motorhomes. We then settled on Thames as our forever home.
Seeing all the weatherboard villas and cottages in the area, I decided to start Thames House Painting Services in 2012 using my broad range of renovation skills. It was an immediate success and I soon hired other tradesmen and painters to help. We've recently taken on a couple of local 16 year old trainees too.
Although we also paint modern homes and properties on occasion, it's the restoration of some of the hundreds of classic heritage villas that abound in Thames that we find most rewarding.
Many have been sadly neglected in the more recent past as they were perceived as unfashionable for a time. But that time is now long gone and people now appreciate their timeless appeal and the quality of the timber used in their construction.
We have worked on over a hundred properties to date but we still get a thrill from the reactions of delighted customers when they see the end result.
